Who says Sangria is for Summer?

This past weekend we were delighted to be a part of the annual Wedding Show up at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. As part of our offerings we served a Winter White Sangria, and boy was it a hit! Sangria is, in many ways, the alcoholic equivalent to cooking from the pantry. You never have to follow a recipe, and often times the best concoctions are made up on a whim. Our recipe is below, but remember - improvising is encouraged!

Winter White Sangria

1 bottle chardonnay
1 bottle sauvignon blanc
1 bottle chablis (yes, they still make this!)
1/2 cup of simple syrup
1 cup brandy
2 cups apple juice
1/2 cup orange juice
juice of one lime
2 tbsp honey

Sliced Pears, Apples, and Grapes

Now, prepare yourself for the super complicated method:
1. Combine all of the above in a large jug.
2. Let sit overnight (preferably). Before serving, give it a try and make sure it doesn't need a bit more of this or that.
3. Consume with friends. Don't forget, the fruit is the best part!

  1. And PLEASE: when serving sangria, remember a slotted spoon. Usually, when poured from the pitcher, I get all the liquid and none of the stuff. The stuff is good! And then the last guy gets a glass full of stuff. Pour with the pitcher, spoon out the stuff.

    Thank you.
