Jen and Dennis

Photos Courtesy of our dear friend, Joshua Behan Weddings

While reading through the morning wedding blogs, I was pleasantly surprised to come across some engagement photos from our very own Jen and Dennis. Between Jen's killer smile and the twinkle in Dennis' eye, we know that this is truly a beautiful union. Their May 7th nuptials will definitely be one of the highlights of 2011.

Check out the rest of their session on Josh's blog. Can't wait for the wedding!

They're photographer, Channing Johnson, really captured their spirits and playfulness in their engagement shots. We can't wait to see what he does with the wedding this Sunday at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington.

Save the Date - October 23rd, 2010

Remember Erin and Dan? ( How could you forget, really...)

WELL.... We got a pretty amazing package in the mail last week from them...

You can see what came inside the package here - Style Me Pretty did a nice little feature on our creative couple...

If this is what the Save the Date looks like, can't wait to see what the invitation and actual wedding have in store for us all!

Serendipity

When we first met Jason and Melissa we were excited with how laid back the couple was and how much fun we'd have working together. THEN - they dropped the bomb on us.

Jason is the Chef/Owner at Olio in Groton and Melissa is on staff there as well (when she's not teaching - wonder woman!). Designing the menu was going to be fun - to say the absolute least. There were so many ideas thrown out at that first meeting that we all had to mull it over. We settled on White Zinfandel Poached Shrimp Cocktail with House made Sun-dried Tomato Ketchup and Fresh Horseradish, Filet of Beef Carpaccio on Crostini with Red Onion, Caper Butter, Shaved Parmigiano, topped with Micro Greens, Creme Fraiche Whipped Purple Potatoes, and Grapefruit, Red Onion and Kalamata Olive Salad...Just to name a few.

Karen, our coordinator extraordinaire, is going to be working with the pair for their Jonathan Edwards fete. Jay is going to be making Concord Grape Sorbet for the guests to enjoy as an Intermezzo between the First Course and Entree - the perfect way to keep guests cool during the July heat.

We are so excited that these two love birds are tying the knot and that we get to help celebrate.

Beach Babes Jordan and Steve

Bermuda sounds like the perfect spot to get married, doesn't it? Perfect spot for just about anything. However - not perfect enough for the lovely Jordan and her fiance Steve. While living in Bermuda is fantastic (they moved out there for work), they're going to be coming back stateside for their wedding in September. It's to be held at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown - one of our favorite places to work because of the heavenly kitchen!

We just met with Jordan this past weekend while she was in town to taste some cake. Her mother and sister came to spend the afternoon with us and try out all of the different cake fillings and flavors while sampling some wine, looking at linens, and fine tuning the timeline of the wedding.

The ceremony in the Rose Garden already sounds like our favorite part - very magical. Can't wait to show you pictures of the wedding!

Goin to the Chapel...

...And they're gonna get married in August! From the moment Jeanette started talking with Jenny and she suggested they have their first meeting at Panera (Jeanette loves it there, just a bit), it was meant to be for us.

Jenny and Art are both teachers at Waterford High and reside in Pawcatuck. Their reception will be held at the Westerly Yacht Club and they have an amazing menu planned. Jenny's vision was an upscale bar-be-que (being in the summer, and right on the water) so we're going to be serving Panko Crusted Cod with Tomato and White Bean Ragout, Red Wine Marinated Sirloin and Sweet Chili Marinated Chicken Kabobs, Classic Potato Salad, and a few other special things that we won't be giving away just yet.

Ironically enough, one of Jenny's bridesmaids (Karna) is getting married this summer too. Not only is Jenny in that wedding as well, we are too! It's going to be good summer with these friends.

Whitney and Ted

Oh Whitney and Ted. There are a million and one things that we could sit here and tell you about them. None of it would matter, because the one thing that pops into our heads when we think about them is how sweet and fun they are. Every time they come for a visit, we get big hugs, have lots of laughs and squeal over the anticipated arrival of their daughter (Hopefully next week!) This is a couple that truly loves each other through and through and it shows with their every gaze. We're so excited to be working with both families to bring these two together on their wedding day - it couldn't have been a more perfect fit.

Whitney sent us some of their engagement photos that were taken last fall by a master of the lens - Joshua Behan. We had to share!

And last, but certainly not most least...(our personal fave)

Sarah and Alex

Outside the Victoria Memorial. Sarah was living in Calcutta at the time.

Sarah and Alex....Amazing in a word. These two bright minds have come to together and are getting married in October of 2010 at the Mystic Yachting Center. Sarah is working on getting her PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and is living in India right now. Told you - she's amazing. Sarah's been studying the tea practices in India and we're hoping to include some of her favorites into the wedding service by having a loose leaf tea service at the wedding.

We can't wait to meet with the couple when they come back state side in May. They're going to have so much wedding planning to do while trying to visit everyone...Don't worry...We'll have plenty of wine for you when you get here to relax.

Deanna and Dini - A Perfect Match

When we first met Deanna, we were in the midst of preparing for one of our favorite 2009 brides, Katie Shea Barrett's nuptials on a misty September day. We were working on setting up a tent and reception with some late arrivals, but nevertheless, we pulled it through. At the last minute, what we thought was going to be wash out, turned out into a beautiful and elegant ceremony artfully crafted by our friend Sarah True. No wonder why Deanna rushed home and told Dini that this was it - this was going to be their wedding.

On July 2nd this summer, Dini and Deanna will be exchanging vows at St. Sophia {our other friends, and no - not just because of the fab food at the Greek Festival} in New London, and then enjoy a fete at the Branford House at Avery Point on the Lawn. Sarah is working with them on this event as well - It's a recipe for a success.

Included in the amazing menu that we've created with the couple is an abundant Antipasto table, raw bar, and some late night treats for guests to help them party into the night. We had a lot of fun with them at their tasting - can't wait to see what the coming months bring.

We're so thrilled to have them on board with us, and very much looking forward to their wedding in July.

Meet Erin and Dan - Newest Members to the GG Family

We are so excited to announce that we will be collaborating with Erin St. Thomas and Dan Ethier for their October 23rd Wedding at Saltwater Farm. We couldn't be happier to have Erin and Dan as a part of our Gourmet Galley family - we're going to have so much fun. The menu is going to have some fall favorites with a few rustic touches...right up our alley. They're collaborating on the decor with Ms. Sarah over at True Event. She always helps to put on a stellar event...this one will be no different.

These are some shots from an informal engagement session they did with the fabulous Suzanna March - make sure you watch the little video montage.....Erin is so gorgeous and the angles that Suzanna gets are unbelieveable....she's truly an artist. We're excited to see the second round of shots in the summer by Anna Sawin.

All you brides to be - Check out Erin's blog where she's been sharing some of her inspriations and ideas for her upcoming wedding.
